College Preparation Program
The Scholars Advantage:
- All Scholars Facilitators are experienced in dealing with adult learners. Instructors are friendly and flexible to accommodate a broad range of student capabilities.
- Scholars has “scholarized” this program to ensure that each student’s needs are addressed within the timelines provided and to ensure student success. Instructors do so by regularly consulting the Personalized Program Planner to ensure that students stay on track with timelines. This process also ensures that all students are prepared for the post-secondary environment.
Program Prerequisite:
- Grade 12 equivalency and the student must be planning to enroll or be enrolled in a post-secondary program.
Program Duration:
- 20 hours 5 days per week
Methodology:
Students are provided with practical exercises and independent assignments. Students begin with identifying their own unique learning styles and methods for taking advantage of their learning style through case studies and exercises. Students learn how to set goals and manage time effectively. By the end of the course, students develop strategies for coping with various types of assignments and tests, as well as how to effectively learn. The program provides students with an introduction to a variety of methods to cope with and succeed in a post-secondary environment.
