Certified Retail Sales Associate Program
The Scholars Advantage:
- All Scholars Facilitators possess a B. Ed. and are experienced in dealing with adult clientele. Instructors are friendly and flexible to accommodate a broad range of student capabilities.
- Scholars has “scholarized” this program to ensure that each student’s needs are addressed within the timelines provided and to ensure student success. Instructors do so by regularly consulting the Personalized Program Planner to ensure that students stay on track with timelines. This process also ensures that all students are prepared for both workplace and educational environments.
- This program is also available in French.
- This program includes the Introduction to Computers Program, the Job Search Training Program and the SafeAbility - Health & Safety Awareness Training Workshop.
- Scholars will provide you monthly reports and a final report within two days of program completion.
Program Prerequisite:
Students require Grade 8 equivalency in reading and writing and a basic competency with computers. Students must be bondable.
Program Duration:
8 weeks @ 3 hours/day or 24 hours + exam outside of class & Job Placement (up to 600 hours monitored by CRI)
Methodology:
Students work independently through the Retail Sales Associate (RSA) Workbooks while a qualified instructor provides guidance as required by the individual student. Upon successful completion of the RSA Workbooks, students proceed to the Introduction to Computers Program, the JSTP Program and the SafeAbility Workshop - Health & Safety Awareness Training Workshop. Upon completion of the in-class component, students complete 600 hours of on-the-job experience.
Students also complete the multiple choice exam on-line. This exam is scored by an independent agency – Assessment Strategy Inc. The Performance Evaluation (Mystery shop) is also conducted by an independent agency – Corporate Research Group.
