Rajinie Fernando -Director of Scholars RH

Rajinie Fernando is a fine artist and an art instructor who enjoys teaching children and adults in her community. She was born and raised in Sri Lanka. Rajinie taught at Sacred Heart Convent in Galle/Sri Lanka before immigrating to Italy. She educated young teens from grades 9 to 12 in physics & chemistry.
As a daughter of an artist Rajinie was inspired to continue her father’s passion for the arts. She is certified in accounting and business management and in 1994 she started her own company, Roma Crafts & Arts, in Canada. She volunteered in teaching children and adults with learning disabilities in her community. Rajinie has worked very closely with children who had difficult child hoods and helped them develop confidence to build their future careers. Rajinie is passionate about arts and tremendously enjoys sharing her talent with students of all ages.
In 2001 and 2002, Rajinie volunteered to paint murals at the outreach offices of Yellow Brick House in Aurora and Thornhill. In 2004 when a tsunami hit her country, she travelled to Sri Lanka and raised money to help the victims of this natural disaster in rebuilding their lives.
Today Rajinie is the proud mother of two sons, owner of Roma Crafts & Arts studio, an employee to the town of Richmond Hill as the art teacher and the director of the Scholars Education Centre in Richmond Hill.
